What a week! We have been busy! This week we were lucky enough to meet Sean Conway; an incredible endurance athlete who has world records for completing the most Iron Man challenges back to back (105), swimming, running and cycling the length of Britain and for cycling around the world- to name but a few! The children enjoyed an assembly where Sean discussed his achievements and told the children how important it is to never give up! The children were amazed and truely enjoyed listening to him. We then carried out our own triathlon circuits which was great fun but exhausting!
As well as this, this week we went on a rather soggy walk into the village to look at our local history. We had learnt about what features we should look for to help us identify different periods in history. We also connected our geography learning to this as it focuses on mapping by beginning to create our own maps of Wrenbury. Back at school, we explored our local OS Map — something the children really enjoyed; looking for familiar places and learning about the symbols used on the map. We also delved a little deeper into the history of Wrenbury; please ask us about this, we would love to share what we have learnt.
In English we have been using the book 'The Street Beneath my Feet' and this week the children have finished their own versions of this. The children have created some wonderful sentences which make their writing very engaging. Well done everyone.
In maths we have continued our work on fractions. We have learnt how to add fractions to make 1, how to compare fractions by using the denominator and then the numerator and learnt how to put fractions on scales and numberlines. This is something that the children have worked hard on and made great progress with, well done.
As well as this we have enjoyed our brass lesson, PE session and further explored identify in RE, asking ourselves what does it mean to be 'me', what does 'belonging mean to myself and others.
A great week had by all.

This week we wanted to share our learning in science; we have been learning about forces. We looked at a range of items and tried to get these to move or change shape. We discovered that we could squeeze, blow, twist, spin and even throw objects to do this. We then realised that all of these verbs could be classified into a push or a pull. We then moved on to learn how items move on different...
Well done to all our Y6, who calmly approached their SATs this week and did their very best. We are very proud of you. A very big thank you to Miss Phillips and Mrs Clarke for teaching and supporting the children through the year and to our parents for their continued support of their children and school. Great team...
